About Us
Hello! My name is Siya Dixit, and I’m the founder of EthnikBites. I am currently a senior at Del Norte High School, planning to major in business. I have always had a love for entrepreneurship and making a positive impact on the community, which is where EthnikBites stems from. EthnikBites was originally created to introduce others to South Asian food and culture, as we wanted to not only make it more accessible to South Asians, but also popularize it and make it easier for others to immerse themselves in the culture. Considering food is a big part of any culture, we thought selling cultural snacks would be one of the fastest ways to do so.
I am also a Head Youth Ambassador of the Akshaya Patra San Diego Chapter, where I help organize and plan fundraisers, leading a team of approximately 70 members and helping raise thousands of dollars per event. Akshaya Patra is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising money to feed impoverished schoolchildren in India, offering them both a full meal and an incentive to come to school and gain an education. I have been an active member of Akshaya Patra for about 5 years now, which is why 50% of the profit made from Ethnik Bites will be donated to Akshaya Patra.
I also enjoy reading, going to the beach, and spending time with my friends and family.
I am pleased to announce that I have recently earned the Presidential Volunteering Service Award for my work with Akshaya Patra! This award was earned after my commitment and dedication to Akshaya Patra by earning over 100 volunteer hours over the past year. I was honored to lead a large team of Youth ambassadors in several meetings by helping to create and organize various community fundraisers. Our team raised thousands of dollars in supporting Akshaya Patra’s mission
